“Amsyiat Schubert” is a free translation of the term “Schubertiade” – the intimate
musical gatherings held around Franz Schubert, where music, singing, and
friendship came together.
In a unique collaboration between the Nazareth Liturgical Festival and the Israeli
Schubertiade, and in a bold and intriguing attempt to bring Schubert’s songs

together with the Arab tradition of muwashshah, this one-of-a-kind concert
creates a distinctive new sound and color. The encounter between Schubert’s
classical music and Arab musical traditions offers a new, local, and unexpected
way of hearing these familiar songs.
