Rachel Frenkel, Mezzo-soprano

Rachel Frenkel is a regular guest of international opera and concert stages. She has performed her signature-role of Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, the Wiener Staatsoper, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, with Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Budapest Festival Orchestra, at the Edinburgh International Festival and Mostly Mozart Festival New York. Highlights in 2023/24 include her return to La Scala di Milano in the role of Marcelline (Le Nozze di Figaro) and many more. Most recent opera engagements include Isabella (Italiana in Algeri) at the New Israeli Opera and Idamante (Idomeneo) at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. A former ensemble member of Staatsoper Wien. Guest appearances have led her to Staatsoper Berlin, Semperoper Dresden, Staatsoper Hamburg, Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse, Osterfestspiele Salzburg, Salzburger Festspiele, Bregenzer Festspiele and Glyndebourne Festival working with conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, Christian Thielemann, Ivor Bolton, Iván Fischer, Gustavo Dudamel, Marc Minkowski, Ingo Metzmacher, Simone Young, Thomas Hengelbrock, Emmanuelle Haïm and Robin Ticciati.
